Morning Pages that Lasted a Day

Is it fabulous that the best costume I’ve ever worn is one that I essentially splatter painted?

Here is a work in progress that began as today’s Morning Pages, and was just an abstract texturing fun play around in Procreate with an Apple pencil, because I became addicted to painting digitally when traveling a lot, and I can take the iPad anywhere. It was only after three cups of tea that I saw the body underneath the paint and realized that she needed an eye. So I collaged the cover of FLAG beneath the paint, painted over the eye so that it would match the texture somewhat, and that was that.

Now she will be printed out on a 30 x 40 inch canvas, additional painting done, and raised mixed media elements added. She has a working title of “Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others,” but you’ll have to wait for her real name to be revealed when she is actually complete and here in the physical world.
